The story behind every stitch.

Kadambari
Kadambari Gupta finished a fashion designing course in the early 2000s. Then came marriage, and everything that follows marriage in a joint family in North Kolkata - children, household, the years that disappear into other people's needs. She kept her books, her samples, her notes. But the work stayed waiting. For fourteen years.
2012
In 2012, Kadambari started from home. One sewing machine, one karigar - a local artisan she had worked with before. She took on small orders. A blouse here, a suit set there. The first few customers were neighbors. Then they started telling their friends. Then their friends' friends started calling.
Growth
What she had was not just skill - it was the ability to look at a woman and understand what would work on her body, her complexion, for her occasion. That is harder to teach than technique. Clients noticed. Orders grew. The karigar team grew. The work moved from one room to a proper workshop.
Antara
Antara - Kadambari's daughter - grew up watching this. She started helping with photos, with social media, with the small decisions that come with running something properly. Now she is part of Syka in a real way. Mother and daughter, running the same operation that started with a single machine.
Today
Syka has delivered more than ten thousand outfits. Pan India. Some internationally. Weddings, trousseau sets, daily wear, festive pieces, one-off gowns for special occasions. Every piece still goes through Kadambari's hands before it leaves. That part has not changed.
